The Shelby County Fair is requesting the names of young people that have given their time and talent to community service projects.
There will be six young people selected by a committee from the list of nominees. One will be recognized each evening during the Fair. They will be given a plaque and a savings bond if selected.
The young people are to be between 12 and 17 years of age.
To nominate a youth you need to send in an essay of 100 words or less telling about the community service they have performed. This can be any number of activities that the have volunteered for, such as: helping the elderly, serving as a volunteer at the hospital, being a mentor to someone, volunteering for community service projects, etc.
